What was the challenge?

TalkTalk Business wanted to build better relationships with their clients and create a memorable event that would allow their team the time and space to get to know them away from the work environment.

What did we do?

  • Inconnection researched the TalkTalk Business customer profile; primarily male with a common passion for rugby. The highlight of the rugby union calendar is the RBS Six Nations tournament, but instead of a standard hospitality package at Twickenham, Inconnection suggested something much more exciting; taking the delegates to three England away matches in Scotland, Italy and France. This idea not only offered better value for money and a bigger chance of getting good seats, there would also be the chance to sample local culture, food and drink.
  • By splitting the event into three, TalkTalk Business increased the chance of each client being free on at least one of the dates, getting as many people to participate as possible.
  • Inconnection organised all the flights, hotels, transfers, tickets, meals and activities. We ignored the standard stadium hospitality packages where the catering can be distinctly average, and instead organised trips to local restaurants picked for the quality of their food for a more authentic and memorable experience.

What were the results?

TalkTalk Business staff were able to spend two whole days of quality time with their clients at a high profile must-see sporting event, and devote all their attention to the relationship building without needing to worry about organisation or logistics, while the clients said they had felt genuinely appreciated and had had a great experience.
