What was the challenge?

Avnet markets, distributes and adds value to a wide variety of electronics components, enterprise computer products and embedded subsystems worldwide. Its HP business unit was finding it increasingly time consuming and costly to administer the quarterly MDF funding they were receiving from HP, who were presenting them with higher levels of scrutiny and demands for evidence of ROI. Avnet found it more and more difficult to effectively communicate ever changing quarterly incentives to their sales team and to incentivise sales performance. This was the situation Inconnection faced when they started looking for an online reward platform solution and found us!

What did we do?

  • Inconnection developed a reward platform that gives Avnet the flexibility they want within the structured framework they need. Users earn points in return for meeting a variety of targets, usually sales focused but also including broader objectives based on product knowledge, deal size, customer satisfaction etc.
  • The points are redeemed on the platform, with a wide range of covetable prizes including a bespoke range of HP tablets. Inconnection are also responsible for all prize fulfilment, acknowledging orders within 24 hours and despatching prizes within a week or two.
  • Most excitingly, the platform is easily customisable with the potential to be rolled out across Europe to Avnet’s other business units, or to be used with their resellers to promote the full range of Avnet’s solutions.

What were the results?

Still in its early days, the scheme has attracted a significant number of users from launch and feedback so far has been all positive. Active users are already claiming their prizes smoothly and easily and Avnet are looking forward to seeing the anticipated effect on sales figures.
